reviewed transcript from a meeting with the program leader. thank god for otter, which makes this possible, otherwise, i wouldnt rememebr half by this morning. in terms of structure, im feeling a bit better, i can see how i much of the work ive already (interviews with 4 small business owners, and feedback from a half dosen starups) is applicable, provided i pivoy from IKEA and stick with original concept of chasing starup community. while i think it would be super interesting to investigate why IKEA are so slow to learn, and could use examples from my own experience working there for nearly 2 years, i lost sight of the experincial part of this project. i just couldnt visualize it, with Tash's help, now I sort of can.
next steps: 1. find a thesis that is well organized and follow their format.
2. make contact with MEC amd MINC, incubators in Malmo. David from dojo is probably my best connection, though Magnus from Media Evoulution City of course knows everyone.
3. viewing startups as my users, go out and get the data from them that i need. a. post a survey on linkedin, or maybe on redit. b. look at the research techniques guide to see what types there are that are suited to what i need
4. find out the best medium to reach startups
5. offer a compelling reason they should spend 15 minutes
5. double check my list of contacts and see who else knows anyone in that category (post on fb)
6. look into nomenclature/linguistics, relating to the impact of words.
7. revisit inductive vs deductive to see which track im on, and how that impacts the format of a thesis another thing, i need to keep track not just of my failures, but of my successes, and note learnings that come with each todays success: a. i feel like i have achieved some clarity. b. i recognize that doing nothing will get me now where, so i will embark on a bunch of things and see what sticks.
